Step 1: Open the Copier Engine

Copier Engine:

From your Traders Connect dashboard, locate the COPIER section in the left navigation menu and select Copier Engine.

Step 2: Add a Master Copier

Advanced Copier Settings provide additional control over how copied trades are sized, placed, identified, delayed, and closed. Only change these settings if you understand how they will affect copied trades.

Force Minimum Lot Size

When set, the copier will force the minimum lot size for the symbol if your copied lot size falls below the minimum. For example, most symbols have a minimum lot size of 0.01 and if the copier calculates a lot size below this, for example 0.005 then the trade would fail. Setting this value to true would then trade 0.01 in this case.

Setting this option does not affect any trades above the minimum lot size, for example, if the minimum lot size for the symbol is 0.01, any trades above this, such as 0.02 would still be traded as 0.02.

Force Maximum Lot Size

When set, the copier will force the maximum lot size for the symbol if your copied lot size goes above the maximum. For example, most FTMO symbols have a maximum lot size of 50 and if the copier calculates a lot size above this, for example 55 then the trade would fail. Setting this value to true would then trade 50 in this case.

Setting this option does not effect any trades below the maximum lot size, for example if the maximum lot size for the symbol is 50, any trades below this such as 45 would still be traded as 45.

Now that you have a dedicated environment, you will see a new option on the Accounts > Add Account screen, Account Environment. This allows you to add your new trading account into either our Public environment, which is the usual, standard environment, or your Dedicated Environment, which will either have the initial random name, or a custom name you set.

Upon selecting your environment, the trading account will go through the same Add Account process as usual, once the account has been added successfully, to either the Public or Dedicated Environment, you simply use Traders Connect as normal.

Should you wish to move trading accounts between your environments, you can do so by heading to Integrations > Dedicated Environment.

On this screen, you will see an option in the left menu named Account Configuration, here, you can see a list of your trading accounts.

Within this list, you will see a dropdown menu on the right hand side, showing you which environment your account currently resides in, and easily allowing you to select a new environment.

In order to use a trade copier correctly, you must be aware of certain things related to symbols, otherwise, you may run into issues whilst copy trading.

General information

Symbol Names - It's very important to be aware of symbol names whilst copy trading, if the names do not match exactly then your trades will fail to copy.

Minimum Lot Size - You must be aware of your brokers minimum lot size for a traded symbol, for example, if you are trading the DAX market on broker A, they may have a minimum lot size of 0.01, where broker B may have a minimum lot size of 0.1. This means any trades copied below 0.1 on broker B would fail.

Maximum Lot Size - You must also be aware of your brokers maximum lot size for a traded symbol, for example, if you are trading the EURUSD market on broker A, they may have a maximum lot size of 50, where broker B may have a minimum lot size of 100. This means any trades copied above 50 on broker A would fail.

Contract Size - Depending on your account type, your contract size can differ. For example, there are 3 main account types, micro, mini and standard. SL and TP Settings

Stop Loss and Take Profit settings control how protective levels and pending orders are handled when trades are copied from the Master account to the Slave account.

Copy Stop Loss

When enabled, the Copier copies the Master trade’s Stop Loss price to the Slave trade. This means the Slave trade will close when its own price reaches the copied Stop Loss level.

When disabled, no Stop Loss price is copied to the Slave trade. If the Master trade closes because its Stop Loss is reached, the Copier will close the Slave trade when it receives the Master’s close event. The Slave will close at the available market price at that time.

If Strict Close is enabled, the Copier ignores close events from the Master. The Slave trade will therefore remain open unless its own copied Stop Loss or Take Profit is reached, or the trade is closed manually.

Copy Take Profit

When enabled, the Copier copies the Master trade’s Take Profit price to the Slave trade. This means the Slave trade can close when its own price reaches the copied Take Profit level.
