Override Copier Settings for a Symbol
Symbol Overrides allow you to apply custom copier settings to a specific trading instrument without modifying the default settings of your copier.
This is useful when certain pairs or indices require different risk parameters, slippage allowances, or stop-loss handling due to higher volatility or broker-specific contract sizes.
When to Use a Symbol Override
Differing Volatility or Risk Profiles
You may want a conservative fixed lot size on high-volatility indices like US30 or NAS100 while retaining standard percentage risk on Forex pairs.
Specific Stop Loss or Take Profit Rules
You can customise how Stop Loss and Take Profit orders are copied or modified for an individual symbol.
Add a Symbol Override
Open the Override Menu
In the left navigation sidebar under the COPIER heading, select Copier Engine.
In the Trade Copiers table, find your Master Copier and locate the relevant Slave account row underneath it.
Under the Actions column on that Slave row, click the Override button (marked with an arrow icon).
Select the Symbol
Choose the symbol that requires dedicated copier settings from the available symbol list.
Configure Custom Parameters
Adjust the copier settings you want to override for this symbol, such as risk type, lot sizing, or order handling.
Save the Override
Save your changes to activate the override by clicking Confim.
Any new trades opened on that symbol will now execute according to the override settings rather than the copier's standard rules.
Manage Existing Overrides
Edit an Override
To update an existing override, return to Copier Engine, click Override on the Slave row, select the active symbol override, adjust the parameters, and save.
Delete an Override
If you want a symbol to resume following the default copier settings, open the symbol override and select the delete option.
Once deleted, the symbol will immediately inherit the general settings configured on the copier.
Conclusion
Symbol Overrides provide granular control over your trade execution across diverse assets. Use them whenever a single instrument requires different risk or execution handling from the rest of your portfolio.
