# Symbol Mapping

Symbol Mapping is needed when the same market has a different symbol name on the Master Copier and Slave account. For example, a broker may use `DE40` for a market while another broker uses `GER40`.

You only need to map symbols that you trade and that have different names between the Master Copier and Slave account.

# When Symbol Mapping is Needed

### A Symbol Mismatch is Detected


If a symbol mismatch warning appears when creating a copier, the account may have more than one version of the same symbol available.

For example, if you trade `EURUSD.mini`, select the `.mini` suffix. If you trade `EURUSD`, select the standard `EURUSD` option.

If you select the incorrect suffix, you can update the mapping later from the Symbol Mapping page.

Select the symbol suffix that matches the instrument you trade on the account.

# Open Symbol Mapping


Open the **Copier Engine** tab and select the Symbol Mapping option for the relevant copier.

The Symbol Mapping page lets you select the Master Copier and Slave account, review symbols that are not mapped, and manage existing mappings.

Use the Symbol Mapping page to manage mappings between the selected Master Copier and Slave account.

# Map a Symbol Manually


### Select the Master Copier and Slave

Select the Master Copier account you copy trades from and the Slave account you copy trades to.

### Select the Symbols to Map

In **Unmapped Symbols**, find the symbol you trade on the Master Copier. Select the matching symbol that is available on the Slave account.

For example, you may map `DE40` on the Master Copier to `GER40` on the Slave account.

The available symbols are taken directly from the connected accounts.

### Use Auto Mapping

Select **Auto Mapping** to automatically map supported symbols.

Auto Mapping can map symbols automatically. If the symbols on both accounts already have the same name, no mapping may be needed.

# Manage Existing Symbol Mappings


### Unmapped Symbols

The **Unmapped Symbols** area shows symbols that do not currently have a mapping. Use the search function to find the symbol you want to map.

### Mapped Symbols

The **Mapped Symbols** area shows the mappings already configured for the selected accounts. Use this area to review, edit, or delete individual mappings.

### Delete All Mapped Symbols

Select **Delete All** to remove all existing mappings for the selected accounts.

This action cannot be undone. You will need to create the mappings again if they are deleted.


###### Conclusion

Once the required symbols are mapped, the Copier Engine can copy trades using the correct symbol on the Slave account.
